Hey guys! We had a great weekend at the beach with our family and friends! We found the most perfect beach off the east coast that’s never crowded and is very family friendly. It was sunny, hot, and the ocean waves were so refreshing. I have always been a huge fan of the beach and soaking up the sun, but after becoming a mommy I care a lot more about sun protection than I ever did before.
I had seen plenty of clothing and swimwear before that allowed your skin to tan (or burn!) right through them to prevent tan lines. I had never heard of clothing or swimwear that protected you from the suns harmful rays, until I found Mott 50. Mott 50 is a fashionable clothing company that is sun protective. All of their clothing and accessories have a UPF (Ultraviolet protection factor) of 50. For comparison, the average white tshirt offers a 5 UPF.
This past weekend when my daughter and I were at the beach, we decided to try out our Mott 50 dresses! It was 95 degrees, the sun was out in full force, and the reported UV Index was off the charts at 9+. At first, I was a little concerned about the two of us being in long sleeves in the blistering heat, but surprisingly the materials of the dresses actually kept us rather cool. I had on the Nancy Hooded Cover-Up in Fuchsia Ikat, and my daughter had on the kids Mini Toni Boatneck Dress in Navy w/ Pink Kiss, both of which are made up of a bamboo and spandex blend. The material is great quality, and the perfect thickness for outdoor wear. Honestly they couldn’t have been more comfortable!
Mott 50 not only has fashion forward UPF apparel, but they have UPF swimwear, activewear and accessories as well. After our beach trip I would definitely recommend this brand. We did not burn, we stayed comfortable, and got so many compliments on our dresses.
From now until June 21st use code “MelanomaCure” for 20% off your purchase and Mott 50 will donate an additional 20% to the Melanoma Research Alliance. Happy Shopping! 🙂
